Kiko Infinity Eyeshadows With Swatches + An Amazing Affordable Must Buy Eye Primer

I’ve written posts about Kiko products before as I just love this brand so much. They have such a variety of products at such great prices. Today I am writing about 3 products I purchased recently and I’ll start off with the 2 from Kiko which are from its Infinity Eyeshadow range. The eyeshadow colours I picked were shades 262 Mat Green and shade 229 Metalic Golden Camelia.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Orange Correcter- Ideal for uneven skintone for Medium to Dark Skintones

A big issue I suffer from is uneven skin tone particularly around my mouth and under my eyes. Sometimes this causes me to overdo the foundation coverage to try and make everything match up and appear even, but instead makes my skin look cakey and still appear uneven. I heard about correcting red pigmentation with a green corrector and brown pigmentation using Orange so was on the hunt for a colour correcter in Orange. I searched online and found one from LA Girl. What set this apart from other correcters was that the shade of Orange looked deeper than the others so I thought it would suit me better.

When I opened it, it comes with a brush type applicator and you gently squeeze the tube for the product to come out. This is great as it prevents you from being to heavy handed and using too much. It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way and its a lightweight formula so is easy to blend. I used a primer underneath that I wrote about before from Maybelline and this worked well underneath the corrector.

Once blended, the area looks orangey/red as expected but when you layer foundation on top the coverage is perfect. Foundation blends over the correcter without feeling heavy and my skin looks so even now. It also means I use less foundation as I’m not over compensating for the fact that I need to even out the skin tone, since the corrector does this for me now.
This is a must buy for those with uneven skin tone. Since the Orange is deep I would recommend it to those with medium to dark skin. A more peach or light orange corrector would suit lighter skin better. If your skin tone is lighter I would suggest the NYX Dark Circle Concealer which comes in 4 different orange shades.

Tresemme Heat Style Primer Spray

Protecting my hair before applying heat is very important to me. I use styling tools often such as a Blowdryer and Straightner so it’s important that I look after my hair the best I can to prevent long term damage. I’ve tried different heat defence products but the problem I’ve found is that they weigh down my hair and I lose volume at times. However, I decided to try a product I found from Superdrug called Tresemme Heat Style Primer Spray.

tresemme-1

This product is extremely affordable at just £1.50 so I thought why not especially since the bottle is a good size too. I sprayed some of the product on my damp hair after I briefly towel dried it. I brushed it through and then started blow drying. Once I was finished I was impressed with how light the product felt since my hair felt smooth and not weighed down. The product suggests to spray individual sections if using on dry hair. Some days I just air dry my hair. Once dry I separate into 4 sections and spray the primer onto each section and then begin straightening once it dries. I’m really happy with this product and will continue using it as my main heat defence styling product.

Gosh Velvet Touch Prime’n Set Primer and Mattifying Setting Powder

As I’ve mentioned before I have Oily skin. It’s tough as the day goes on to try and maintain a nice matte finish especially on particularly warm days. Thankfully there are now wonderful products out there called finishing/setting powders which are designed to help set your make up and complete your look. The powders are translucent so can be universally used by all skin tones and are meant to be light in texture just to set your make up to finish your look. I was out purchasing my favourite eyeliner from Gosh (mentioned in previous post https://southindianmakeup.wordpress.com/2015/09/09/gosh-cosmetics-velvet-touch-eye-liner-and-eye-shadows/) and came across a setting powder and thought I would give it a try. It is called Gosh Velvet Touch Prime’n Set Primer and Mattifying Setting powder and I purchased it for £6.99 but it is usually £9.99.

setting powder

Even though its a two in one product I personally do not use it as a Primer and only use it as a setting powder. The pot comes with a sieve that you can rotate which is handy since it prevents spills or too much powder coming out.  So once I completed by normal foundation routine I lightly dipped by brush into the powder and blended it over my skin. It blended in easily with my skin without affecting my foundation or making it appear cakes or patchy and instead, gave me a matte polished look. Throughout the day I didn’t need to reapply my makeup and it controlled shine completely. I highly recommend this Setting/Finishing powder since its a great price and actually works well and lasts all day.
