Bellepierre Blush in Shades Autumn Glow and Suede

I’m a big fan of the Bellepierre brand as the Compact Mineral Foundation is a permanent staple in my make up bag. I have a few other Bellepierre products so today I am going to review two of the Bellepierre blushers. The blushers come in a sifter jar which is convenient so you do not lose too much product, and especially necessary in my opinion as the blushers are loose powders rather than compact.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup

Estee Lauder is a brand which is known for catering to all skin tones. The Double Wear Foundation range for example has over 30 shades ranging from cool, warm to neutral so there is so much to choose from. I felt unsure about the shade to commit to so fortunately Estee Lauder are happy to provide a sample. They used a device that took three photographs of my face to decide on my shade. I was matched to Bronze 5W1 but they did not have it in stock since its a newer shade so they recommended that I tried Henna 4W3.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Orange Correcter- Ideal for uneven skintone for Medium to Dark Skintones

A big issue I suffer from is uneven skin tone particularly around my mouth and under my eyes. Sometimes this causes me to overdo the foundation coverage to try and make everything match up and appear even, but instead makes my skin look cakey and still appear uneven. I heard about correcting red pigmentation with a green corrector and brown pigmentation using Orange so was on the hunt for a colour correcter in Orange. I searched online and found one from LA Girl. What set this apart from other correcters was that the shade of Orange looked deeper than the others so I thought it would suit me better.

When I opened it, it comes with a brush type applicator and you gently squeeze the tube for the product to come out. This is great as it prevents you from being to heavy handed and using too much. It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way and its a lightweight formula so is easy to blend. I used a primer underneath that I wrote about before from Maybelline and this worked well underneath the corrector.

Once blended, the area looks orangey/red as expected but when you layer foundation on top the coverage is perfect. Foundation blends over the correcter without feeling heavy and my skin looks so even now. It also means I use less foundation as I’m not over compensating for the fact that I need to even out the skin tone, since the corrector does this for me now.
This is a must buy for those with uneven skin tone. Since the Orange is deep I would recommend it to those with medium to dark skin. A more peach or light orange corrector would suit lighter skin better. If your skin tone is lighter I would suggest the NYX Dark Circle Concealer which comes in 4 different orange shades.

Clean and Clear Dual Action Oil Free Moisturiser- Ideal for Acne and Blemish prone skin

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I suffer from occasional breakouts. My skin type is oily so I always look for oil free products. I wanted to find a spot fighting cream to help prevent future breakouts so my first choice was to try a Clearasil product. However, Clearasil is way to harsh on my skin. The cream I tried called Clearasil Rapid Action Treatment Cream, completely dried out and irritated my skin so I decided never to try products from the Clearasil range again.  This is not to say it will not work for others but I personally would not recommend it for sensitive skin. So I decided to try out a product from the Clean and Clear range instead so I bought the Clean and Clear Dual Action Oil Free Moisturiser.

All I can say is what a find! This is my absolute favourite moisturiser. Since using it I hardly break out and the appearance of my blemishes have significantly improved. It is fragrance free so is ideal for sensitive skin and when applied it feels completely lightweight. The texture is smooth and non greasy so works well under make up and my skin remains oil free for hours.
I’m really amazed that a cream this affordable (under £4) actually helps prevent spots appearing on skin but for me it actually works and I will not be switching to another moisturiser. You only need a little amount and the size is quite big (100ml) so lasts ages. So if like me you suffer from occasional spots then this is a must buy that I highly recommend!

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour wear Hydrating Foundation

I have always been nervous with regards to using liquid foundation for two reasons, one is the fact I have oily skin so it was a concern my skin would feel greasy and reason two was about finding a colour that matches, since Indian skin tones are hard to find shades for. However I heard about an oil free foundation from Smashbox so I decided to write about my experience using Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour wear Hydrating Foundation.

I went in store to Boots and I was colour matched to shade 3.2. The product is quite expensive at £29.00 but the size of the bottle is quite good and you only need a pump or 2 which is enough for your whole face. I found the colour looked a little more yellow on my skin than I’d want ideally but it blended in better when I used less of the product for a lighter coverage. The texture is light and did not feel heavy on my skin and set on my skin with a matte finish. The oil control was excellent throughout the day and suited my sensitive and naturally oily skin. I’ve used a brush to apply the foundation before, however I’ve found it blended better when I used my fingers to apply it. I really like this product and I’m glad I tried it. It gives me long lasting coverage and my skin looks hydrated while still remaining oil free.
