NYX Cosmetics Matte Lipsticks + My Little Trick To Help Lipstick Stay On Longer

NYX Cosmetics have a wonderful range of Lipsticks at amazing prices as they are all under £10. I love how affordable the brand is and also the array of colours you can choose from. I always prefer Matte Lipsticks, and the NYX Matte Lipstick range is priced at £6.50. Despite being matte, the lipstick formula does not dry lips out and are highly pigmented so does not require reapplication very often. 

Naturally however, after eating and drinking lipstick starts to fade so I do a little trick to make my lipstick stay on longer. I have written a post before about Gosh Velvet Touch Prime n’Set Primer and Mattifying Setting Powder

I use this to set my lipstick to double the wear time of any lipstick I use:

I start by applying my lipstick

Next I gently blot my lips with tissue

Then I press my finger into my Gosh setting powder and apply it lightly all over my lips

Next I reapply my lipstick over my lips. You’ll feel the texture of the lipstick feels harder as you apply, this is because the setting powder is helping keep the lipstick in place.

Since I have started using this technique, my lipstick stays in place for so much longer.

Street Cred: It is a beautiful shade that’s a lovely balance between Red and Pink. It’s vibrant and colourful but not overpowering so will work for a lot of skin tones.

Sierra: This shade is the perfect universal Coral Shade. Despite looking quite subtle, it has a pink undertone and the coral is very noticeable and vibrant. I like it because it works really well on warm skin tones without being overwhelmingly bright. Coral shades are hard to pull off but this shade will work for everyone.

My favourite 2 shades from the NYX Lipstick Range for Nightwear are:

Eden: Eden is a stunning deep red colour with a subtle orange undertone. It really would work for every skin tone and is perfect if you want to stand out and feel beautiful. It makes such an impact and is an ideal evening wear colour. The vibrancy of the Red is toned down by the Orange undertone so despite being bright it is still flattering on darker skin tones.

Aria: Despite looking very dark it comes off like a mix of purple and pink. I prefer this, as it soften the look more and can be worn in daytime too. It’s a really pretty shade and another colour I feel will suit a range of skin tones. I love the softness the pink undertone gives this lipstick but how the purple gives it a bit more depth making it more edgy and sultry.
